In our thoughts…
April 9, 2007
Our business development manager, Ryan Peterson, goes into surgery on Tuesday, April 17.
Ryan has Carcinomatous transformation of teratoma. If you actually know what that is, you are probably a doctor. Apparently this thing is rarer than rare. The tumor has not spread, and the doctors think they can remove it with surgery. He will not have to undergo any chemotherapy.
There is no cure for this type of cancer, but that won’t matter because it will be in the garbage, and the tumor can be incurable all it wants once it’s safely removed.
The surgery is not a cake walk, but considering the alternative he is extremely fortunate.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Update: Thursday, April 19:
Everything is as good as it could be with Ryan. His operation went well, 30 minutes shorter than expected. They removed the tumor and are doing some tests on it over next 2 weeks. He should be out of the hospital next week and spend the next 4-8 weeks recovering.
All good.
Update: Tuesday, April 24:
Word is, Ryan is 100% cancer-free. Great news!
