Mushroom Men looks great. Love the art style and offbeat approach. Thanks for going where a lot of people would not. Thank goodness for a publisher like gamecock.
This game has some promise. The artwork is great and original. The story sounds interesting too. The trick is to make a good game from it. Based on what you guys have, it looks good so far. I could use some killer wallpapers though.
Hey guys, i am really excited about Mushroom Men. Info regarding it is scarce, but what has been revealed looks great. The art style is amazing. I really hope you guys can, did, or at LEAST tried to talk Primus into doing the full soundtrack, Their style fits perfectly with the art style thus far.
Do you plan to have any psychoactive or psilocybe mushroom men in there?(with exception to the Amanitas, which are mostly deadly and don’t contain psilocybin, which i’m sure you know already since they are the agressive tribe) So far the mushroom men that have been explained are all edible or poisonous types mostly. Possibly as a tribe of mystics with magical powers or something along those lines(which the one in the trailer with the glowing staff looks like he could be) I would love to see some psilocybe mushroom men running around doing all kinds of trippy magical stuff.
Good luck with this game and future projects, you guys are certainly off to an excellent start. I will definatly buy this, as a fungus fan, i am obligated.
I love the way you guys are thinking,Very original, And i can see some great gameplay from this already- I love the fact you guys are making a game like this!
(I love how original it is) HOPE YOU GUYS MAKE MORE GAMES!
I was the audio director/composer on a couple of Oddworld games and get Google alerts on any Oddworld news, and the Wired blog post about your game came up on my radar.
Anyway, I love where you’re going with the visual style and also the whole concept. It all looks really sweet and I’m looking forward to when you release it.
you should really develop mushroom men for the xbox 360, with better graphics,multiplayer(xbox-live!)im shure more people would buy it! IM SHURE!… maybe on the ps3 aswell
Please oh please oh PLEASE support high end features (480p, 16×9, Dolby Pro Logic II) for the Ghostbusters game on the Wii!! In spite of Nintendo’s marketing to the “casual gamer”, a LOT of Wii owners care about these features, and a smooth framerate too.
I have to admit that while your art does indeed look sic - both Mushroom Men and Ghostbusters - what I’ve seen in-game from either has me a bit worried. But I guess that’s why you haven’t released any official trailers of either. Still, I just want to say, PLEASE ADD ONLINE to Ghostbusters Wii! I don’t understand how you can create a multiplayer centric title without at least some kind of online support. Can’t wait to see more of both games!
y’know what? I just checked the latest Mushroom Men trailer on the site and it looks a lot better than what I’ve seen before. Lookin’ great guys! Really can’t wait to learn more about both titles!
PLEASE PLEASE for the love of god, or anything holy make this for the Xbox. This game looks awesome and seeing some of this lame repetitive fps shooters, this looks like the first original game in sometime. i love the art work, amazing style, love the designs, love the whole idea of making weapons, i love fricken everything in this. Mushroom men should be a hit and I’d love to play it when it comes out (of course if this means buying a Wii, i just might!). Keep up the good work and best of luck.
Nice artwork, Frank! For some reason it reminds me a little of the Sam & Max PC game style. I look forward to checking it out. Keep a movin’ and a shakin’…
Its great to see a game that doesnt look like the millions of others out there. Unfortunately some of the amazingness of the concepts have been lost when translating it too a game. Still I hope you will have great success with the game.
I hope mushroom men will have a skimerish where u can be any species of plant and u can pick the weather and what bugs and animals u want in it and have battles with allied mushroom men or u cam make allies during the game!
Please, make more realistic characters in your Ghostbusters Wii version. These ones are not characters from the movie but these from the cartoon (there is no blond guy in the movie). Take more time if you need but remake it. I was empressed to buy your game but I was desapointed when I see your screenshots.
Please, I wait this games since I was a little boy. Don’t release a bad game and don’t push me to buy an other console to play the Terminal Reality version of this game.
Why not to ask them for some textures and meshes ?
I can not say for the life of me that I am 100% pleased with the current situation centered around Ghostbusters right now. In fact I would say I am 250% something not nice & pretty, I’m sure get the idea. Anyways my question with situation currently as it is - will Ghostbuster still be published for Nintendo? With the way Activision and Sony are handling this title I wouldn’t be surprised if I never see it come out and I am realy looking forward to it. I can’t afford to buy a PS3 and most likely wont be able to buy one even after the ps4 comes out. Please tell us it’s still coming for Nintendo.
I am extremely disappointed with the Wii version of the Ghostbusters game as per the screenshots. To be quite frank, it looks like a childish and inaccurate artistic representation which could be directly related to the developers psyche. I hope I am wrong but it also looks like the developers are trying to attract a market segment which has no familiarity with the Ghostbusters product (ages 10 to 18 give or take a year).
I hardly play any video games in my older years and I was extremely looking forward to a realistic and accurate Ghostbusters video game. I, however, will drown in my sorrow and hope that another developer gets it right the second time around. Or you may want to stay of the mushrooms and delay the release to get it right. I am open for discussion if you would like to contact me. I am willing to provide constructive criticism and feedback, if approached. Thanks
You’re absolutely right. The Wii version of Ghostbusters targets a younger demographic and more casual gamers. If you want a photo-realistic, hard-core Ghostbusters video game, look at the PS3/Xbox360 version developed by Terminal Reality. That game specifically targets an older audience and is built for platforms that can handle the high resolution models and textures required for photorealism.
We’ve built the Wii version to maximize the potential of the Nintendo Wii hardware. With its somewhat limited graphical capacities (compared to the behemoth PS3 and Xbox360) attempts at photorealism are almost guaranteed to fall flat. The Wii is wonderfully suited to stylized art, and our studio is rich with talent to capitalize on such an art style.
See the official site at http://www.ghostbustersgame.com/us/index.html for more information about both variants of the title. In particular, check out the PS3/Xbox360 version. I think that’s exactly what you’re looking for.
Hi,
My opinion on the officials screenshots was: why used them cartoon’s like graphisms ? Why ghosts doesn’t use transparency ? Why glow effets looks more like fading shapes ? Why is there no lighting on the phaser rays ? And why all screen are so lighted instead of light/shadow designed…
I was realy disapointed comparing these screens to zelda’s ones i.e.
But I’m sure you’re staff is rich with talent, and I believe in your work.
It’s the reason why I prefer to wrote you my opinion imediatly instead of waiting.
I hope it would interrest you. I want to be constructiv too.
My name is Tyrone I have a Playstation 2 and I already fully pre-order Ghostbusters The Video Game. And Mr.Jeff Mills do the best that you can for the PS2 version, but you should try to almost make the game look a little real I Know deep down you can.Like I said,”I Will still play it when comes out because it’s the third movie and I want to see how it all ends. The Screenshots of Ghostbusters in the December 2007 issue of Game Informer magazine at the very top where you can see 4 player co-op that type of graphics you should make for the PS2.That would be o.k with me that would almost make it look real.Graphics should not matter to the younger audiance because they would by it anyway because,’it’s Ghostbusters. The first two movies are still very, very, funny and when I was walking around my neighborhood the younger audiance saw the Wii screenshots and they said,”what the heck why they do Ghostbusters for the Wii like this why”.I said,”because video game systems have limits to graphics and they use to much the system may crash or the game might not work.Well Mr.Jeff Mills I hope you try to make Ghostbusters The Video Game a little real because I own a Playstation 2 and you make the game have Scarface The World Is Yours type of graphics for the Playstation 2 version of Ghostbusters. That would make Ghostbusters The Video Game from you guys a little real. The reason I writting this is because I’m 19 years old that’s right I only own a Playstation 2 see since Terminal Reality is creating the Playstation 3 version then that should mean that the Playstation 2 version should look a little more realistic.Oh one more thing the 5th member of Ghostbusters should not have yellow hair he should have the same clor like on the PS3 version of Ghostbusters.I you make it a little realistic the younger audiance will still go out to stores and by it.I faith that you developers can make the PS2 version of Ghostbusters look real just try don’t give up the younger audiances will still buy Ghostbusters. And plus Nintendo Games are the ones that have more of that stylized type of games the Playstation 2 should not.People I know said,”this Playstation 2 version now I know they can do better than that.If you are try to get the younger audiances to buy Ghostbusters then the Nintendo Wii is the only one that should have Ghostbusters stylized not the Playstation 2 version.Because people might be disappointed if the Wii and PS2 versions are exactly the very same.Well you guys should make the PS2 version for Older audiances and the Wii for younger audiances.Well that’s all I have to say as far as that goes. Please take my advice mr.mills.
@Tyrone Kelly: I follow you about graphics. But why the Wii version needs stylized graphics and not PS2 ? The Wii isn’t only a kid machine, it’s a family one. The Ghostbusters movie is a 24 years old movie the the most part of its public is actualy adult.
I am 38 years old, I am a Wii owner and I prefer real graphics too…
But, if the stylized game is fun, playable for 4 players, using DS like PK Detector, why not ?
